Leonardo Yachts: history

Leonardo Yachts was founded by two brothers, Steven & Melle Boersma. The factory is in the heart of the premium Dutch yacht building industry in the Northern part of the Netherlands. They serve an international clientele with beautiful daysailers: the Eagle. With a portfolio consisting of the Eagle 38, Eagle 44, Eagle 54 and the Eagle 70. In 2011 the Eagle 44 was nominated as European boat of the year in the category special boats.

Many boats have been build and delivered worldwide. From Australia to North America. Their dream is to build beautiful daysailers that make heads turn. They count on staff  full of commitment to support our customers during the ownership of an Eagle as much as possible. Furthermore, Leonardo Yachts works with leading designers and maintain long-term relationships with their partners.

Pedigree Performance

With a grandfather who started building wooden racing dinghies in the 1950’s and a father who specialised in the construction of steel motor yachts, Steven and Melle come from a pedigree boat building family. Raised in the northern part of the Netherlands, where much of their youth was spent racing on the famous Frisian lakes, a passion for sailing was born. This has since been translated into thriving careers for both the brothers.

Leonardo Yachts are known for good quality and maintaining a high valuation at the second hand market.
