The first Sydney to Hobart race Sydney was in 1945. Since then it has grown to  become a premier world yachting event.

The 75th Edition was announced last year as a momentous one and it exceeded all expectation. With over a 150 entries, including serious cruising boats as well as some of the very best racing boats from around the world. This edition proved to be a spectacular race.

In addition, the weather behaved, offering the Sydney to Hobart fleet the opportunity to shine.

Brendan Hunt, our CEO, having previously competed in the race, said “Last time I did the race was on a 40ft one tonner which was not the most comfortable experience. This time, doing it on the beautiful CNB 76 “Charlotte”, was just amazing”.

CNB 76 Charlotte’s performance

Brendan says “A most magnificent ride. A very easily driven boat and a really good crew and a great owner made the 75th Sydney to Hobart race really fun. She performed flawlessly completing the race with just the code zero sail, pushing it as hard as possible at all times”.

Vicsail involvement with another yacht at the Sydney to Hobart

A Mark Mills design, the King 40 “Soozal”, also completed the 75th Sydney to Hobart. Placing 4th in IRC Div 4 and in ORCi Div 3. Vicsail assisted the owners with the importation of the yacht from America. Our team is very proud of Keiran and congratulate him. It is an amazing achievement to compete in a race like the Sydney to Hobart just two months after the yacht’s arrival to Australia.
